Endoji Meeting Room
Leung Chi Wo + Sara Wong
Installation of 41 found photos of various media in nine individual frames and three display cases; and 8 C-prints, each at 100 x 150cm, 2019

Endoji Meeting Room was commissioned for Aichi Triennale 2019 to set foot in the neighbourhood of the Endoji Shopping Street in Nagoya. A few members of the community were interviewed and they contributed with their family photo albums. Forty some photos were selected for further study for a specially scripted caption. The final installation was divided into two parts. A few photos were individually framed and displayed in their own shops. Most photos were exhibited in three low table-cum-showcases in an old empty house nearby where eight large portraits of the artists were also displayed as re-enactment of some figures found in these photos. In 2023, the installation was modified to a gallery setting as exhibited in the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah and re-titled as Museum of the Lost (Strangers at Home).
