During the summer sale raffle tickets were given to customers who had spent up to a set amount. The woman with reddish brown shoes on the right has just bought some ties and scarves for her husband who was the deputy manager in a direct marketing company. He needed them as gifts for his boss and some clients—a Japanese custom in July. The young girl in the photo is her daughter and is nervously watching the woman on her left turn the handle of the “Gara-Gara” box for the lucky draw. She was hoping that the woman would not win the grand prize and that she would still have a chance.
