In his sophomore year summer holiday Mr. Nakajima had interned at an engineering company in Nanporo, Hokkaido for a month . He then took a long trip around Hokkaido. He posed for this photo when he reached Cape Erimo, a well-known scenic spot. In 1974 the famous singer Shinichi Mori released Cape Erimo which became a big hit and brought larger crowds to this spot. However the man kicking in the background came for a different reason. He was a local resident who came here often to exercise. Not a fan of Mori’s song, he found it a bit too old-fashioned, he liked the emerging Hideki Seijo’s Lola Covered in Wounds that he felt better represented youth.
中島先生在大學二年級暑假，到北海道南晃的土木工程公司實習了一個月，之後在北 海道作長途旅行，照中為他本人，攝於襟裳岬觀光時。襟裳岬可眺望無際的太平洋， 本為旅遊勝地，著名歌手森進一 1974 年發行新歌《襟裳岬》，更令此處聲名大噪，更 多人慕名而至。在照片後方踢腿的男子是當地居民，就是來跑步健身而已 ;他嫌森進 一的歌太老成，比較喜歡新進歌手西城秀樹的新歌《傷痕纍纍的羅拉》，充滿青春氣息。

中島さんは、大学の 2 年生の夏季休暇のあいだ 1 か月ほど北海道の南幌にあるエン ジニア系の会社でインターンをしたあと、北海道旅行に行った。彼がポーズをとっ ているこの写真の場所は、襟裳岬という有名な観光スポットである。1974 年に森 進一が発表した「襟裳岬」が大きなヒットとなり、ここに大勢の人が押し寄せるこ ととなった。ただし後ろの方で足を揺らす男性に関しては、ぜんぜん異なる理由が あった。彼は地元の住民で、ここには単に運動をしによく来ていた。森進一の歌を いいと思わず、それを少し古臭いと感じていた彼は、西城秀樹の「傷だらけのロー ラ」を好んだ。それには青春が確かに歌われていた。
