In this photo Mr. Ishizawa’s mother stands under a blossoming sakura tree. She was a member of Shigeru Yaguchi’s campaign team when he contested a by-election for the City Council. Mr. Ishizawa‘s mother was 22 years old and she was responsible for addressing voters with the microphone on the campaign truck. This role was known as Uguisu, “nightingale or singing bird girl” in Japan. They were in the Honmachi-6 area, and the man standing next to the truck was a 40 to 50 year old farmer who had joined the campaign team. Back then farming was considered a low-value and low status occupation. Younger people moved to the city for an easier life and because of this the productivity of farms was severely affected. The farmer felt that Mr. Yaguchi was enthusiastic and helpful to farmers, so he had put aside his farm work and had come to join the campaign.
相中站在櫻花樹下是石沢先生的母親，她當時為市議會補選候選人矢口重雄的助選團 成員，會隨選舉車到不同的集落(村落)拜訪選民。石沢的媽媽当時 22 歳，負責在車 上以揚聲器向選民呼籲，在日本稱為「樹鶯妹」。這天選舉車走到本町六附近，站在車 旁的男人是其他助選員，是年約四、五十歲的農民。當時農業是低產值生計，年青人 都跑到城市維生，嚴重影響生產力。他因為覺得矢口先生平日很熱心幫助農民，所以 特別放下農務參與助選工作。

満開の桜の木の下にいるのは石沢さんの母親だ。彼女は市議会議員の選挙で出馬し た矢口重雄の選挙活動員だった。石沢さんの母親は 22 歳で、キャンペーントラッ クに乗ってマイクを握り、有権者に声かけを行った。この役割は、日本ではウグイ ス嬢として知られていた。彼らは本町 6 区辺りにいて、トラックの隣にいる男は 40-50 歳の農夫で、選挙活動に加わっていた。当時、農業は価値の低い産業だとみ なされており、若者は生活のために市街に移住し、農業の生産性は深刻な影響を受 けていた。彼は矢口氏が熱心に農家の助けになろうとしていることを知り、自身の 農作業を脇に置いて、選挙活動に参加していた。
