Mr. Moriguchi’s father was shopping for souvenirs inside the Yaesu Underground Streets in Tokyo Station before returning home for the New Year. A friend took this photo for him. The lady in the Kimono was also here to shop. Prior to her recent marriage she had taught the tea ceremony in a finishing school in Kyoto. She needed to buy festival sweets for the New Year, but being both a newcomer to Tokyo and an new housewife, and as it was raining outside, she was finding it hard to get her tasks done. If she were in Kyoto she knew the best place for New Year’s sweets would have been the old “Daigokuden Honpo” store.
在東京車站八重洲口地下街，森口先生的父親來這裡買手信，準備回津南過新年，友 人就拍下了這張照片。相中穿和服的婦女也在購物，她剛從京都嫁過來不久，未婚前 在禮儀教室教授茶道。沒過幾天就是新年了，她想起要買和果子。但作為不熟路的新 手媳婦，外面還下着雨，辦起事來倍感不便。要是在京都，「大極殿」本舖的迎春果子 自是她的首選了。

お正月の帰省の前に、森口さんの父親は東京駅の八重洲地下街へお土産を買いに行 った。この写真は、彼の友人が撮ったものである。着物の女性も買い物に来ていた。 彼女は結婚する少し前まで、京都の伝統的なマナー教室で茶道を教えていた。彼女 は新年のお菓子を買う必要があったが、東京に出て来たてで不慣れな主婦だったう えに、外は雨が降っており、お菓子を手にいれることは難しいと感じていた。もし 彼女が京都にいたならば、新年のお菓子を買う最高の場所は、“ 大極殿本舗 ” だっ ただろう。
