In the past the Kamigo Junior High School, in order to facilitate extracurricular learning, friendships and physical fitness, organised outdoor activities for its students during the summer vacation. This page shows scenes of trekking during one of these summer activities on the very popular Shinetsu Trail which ends in Tsunan. At the centre of the page we see students walking along a boardwalk in the countryside. At the tail end of this procession is a young man in a cowboy hat. This young man loved fashion and he enjoyed dressing well. He had recently been introduced to a new women’s clothing brand, Comme des Garçons by a friend from Tokyo. The clothes seemed unisex to him and had a unique cut which he felt made the casual wear special. He now wanted to be a fashion designer and produce this kind of beautiful clothing for men.
舊日上鄉中學校每年都會為學生舉辦夏季戶外活動，好讓學生在暑假期間得到課堂以 外的學習和體格鍛煉，兼且促進同學們互相認識。本頁的圖片記錄了夏季訓練的登山 遠足活動，當年熱門的遠足徑是「信越 Trail」，它的一端就是「津南口」。 版面中央見 到同學們走在郊野的棧道上，走在隊尾戴牛仔帽的男同學很愛美和留意時尚，學校活 動的衣著也講究配搭。不久前東京的朋友向他介紹一個不知名的服裝品牌叫 Comme des Garçons，雖然是女裝，但看來很中性，就是便服都可以很特別。他希望將來都 可以成為一個時裝設計師，做出如此這般男士穿上也很漂亮的衣服。

昔、上郷中学校では、課外授業の一環として、生徒たちの友人関係や体力作りのた めの野外活動を夏休みの間に実施していた。ここには、津南の端に位置する人気の 信越トレイルでの活動の様子が写されている。写真の真ん中には、遊歩道に沿って 歩く生徒たちがいる。列の終わりのところにいる若者はカウボーイハットを被って いる。彼はファッションにこだわりがあって、びしっと決めることが好きだった。 この頃、東京出身の友人から当時の最新のブランド、コム・デ・ギャルソンを紹介 された。彼にとって、その女性ものの服はずいぶんユニセックスなもので、普段着 でさえ何か特別なものにしてしまうような、そんな特別なデザインに思えた。彼は ファッション・デザイナーになりたかった。そしてそんな美しいデザインの服を男 性のために作りたかった。
