The destination for the Kamigo Junior High School graduation tour in 1984 was Kyoto. This photo was taken when students visited Heian Shrine and posed at the Dragon Faucet in front of the Grand Hall. Heian Shrine was built in 1895 and was not as historic when compared with the other much older architectural sites in Kyoto. But it was still splendid and maintained a classical aura. However the man in suit at the left hand side of the photo had discovered the shrine was actually constructed as an exhibit for the Industrial Expo to celebrate the 1,100th anniversary of Heian-kyo, the former name of Kyoto when it was capital of Japan. As a very successful salesman he could understand and appreciate this as a truly grand marketing exercise. The sightseeing tour had, surprisingly, become something of a study visit for him.
昭和 59 年上鄉中學畢業旅行之目的地為京都，幾位同學站在平安神宮大極殿前的青龍 水手舍上留影。平安神宮建於 1895 年，以京都的古建築來説，歷史較短，但看起來 都非常宏偉，古色古香。不過圖左邊沿一位先生，發覺原來神宮是當年京都為慶祝平 安京建都 1100 年舉辦工業博覽會的一個展品 ;他作為一位出色的推銷員，不禁讚歎 這實在是一項巨大的推廣計劃，沒想到這次觀光會意外地成為一項專業考察。

1984 年の上郷中学校の修学旅行の行き先は、京都だった。この写真は、平安神宮 を訪れた生徒たちが大極殿の前にある龍の蛇口のところでポーズを取っているもの だ。平安神宮は 1895 年に建立されたもので、京都にある他の古い建物と比べられ るような歴史はない。しかし豪華で、そこはもっともらしい雰囲気に満ちている。 しかしこの神宮が実際には内国勧業博覧会の一環として平安京遷都の 1100 年を記 念する企画で立てられたものであるということを、写真の端にいるスーツの男性は 承知していた。有能なセールスマンである彼は、そのことをマーケティング戦略と してはすばらしいものだと考えていた。この観光ツアーは、意外にも彼にとってよ い勉強になったのだった。
