Oxfam Unwrapped, leaflet, Oxfam GB, 2010, 12 x 12.5 cm.

Violent conflicts between the rebel group Lord’s Resistance Army and the Ugandan government force have been lasting over 20 years in Northern Uganda. Many residents, known as Internally Displaced Persons (IDP), are forcibly moved into refugee camps not only for protection but more for distinguishing themselves from the rebel group. This photo inside the leaflet was taken at Mucwini camp around 2009. The young woman on the left foreground, an Acholi native in her mid-twenties from Kitgum, would have to trade sex for her basic necessities in the camp even with the so-called protection by the government, which is notoriously corrupted. Staring at these beautiful and brand-new jerry cans, she would not believe they are free.
