This photo was taken while Mr. Moriguchi was holidaying in Okinawa with some of his colleagues. He is at the centre of the picture. It so happened that there was a young woman in an orange kimono passing by. This woman loved the colour orange and always dressed in the colour as it made her feel both comfortable and confident. In her primary three class at elementary school a classmate, whose father was a journalist, gave her the nickname Agent Orange. At the time she was attered to be thought of as a secret agent. It was not until many years later that she learnt that Agent Orange was a herbicide used by the US Army during the Vietnam War to, among other things, destroy the enemy’s crops. It was also said that the US Military Base in Okinawa was a secret storage facility for Agent Orange.
這是森口先生和同事到沖繩觀光時的留影，他就站在照片的正中央，身旁剛好出現一 名穿橙色和服的年青女子之背影。此女子忠愛橙色，從小穿戴都只有橙色，這讓她感 到自信和安定。小學三年級，她有一位父親是記者的同學，就給她起了一個 Agent Orange 的別號，她以為自己是「橙衣特務」好不威風。多年以後她才明白，原來這 是美軍在越戰時用來破壞農作物生態的化學武器，有説 Agent Orange 就是秘密地儲 存於沖繩的美軍基地。

この写真は、休暇を利用して沖縄を旅行した際に、森口さんを中央にして同僚と一 緒に撮影したものだ。シャッターが切られたのは、ちょうどオレンジ色の着物を着 た若い女性が通り過ぎた時だった。彼女はオレンジ色が大好きで、オレンジ色だけ を着こなし、彼女はそれによって自信と心地よさを感じていた。小学 3 年生の時、 父親がジャーナリストだった彼女の同級生は、彼女に「エージェントオレンジ」と いうあだ名を付け、ふざけて橙色の秘密のスパイであることを褒め称えた。数年後、 彼女は「エージェントオレンジ」が、ベトナム戦争で米軍によって敵の作物を壊滅 させるために使用された化学兵器である枯葉剤(オレンジ剤)のことだったと気づ いた。沖縄の米軍基地は、「エージェントオレンジ」の秘密の保管場所であったと も言われている。
