Based on the notion of memory—our own memory and water memory—a controversial theory devised by French scientist Jacques Benveniste, this installation interweaves the words of three totally unrelated individuals—the artist, a young boy who perished in the sea and a Canadian blogger who narrowly escaped from a natural disaster. The artist attempts to construct a contextual framework to contemplate the meaning of distance, separation and amnesia, for gazing the motif—scenes of water that was captured in video in various locations in Hong Kong and Thailand, all connected ultimately by water, echoing the fluidity of memory.
