Always Gentian Blue Sky | ||
Site-specific project in public space, La Terrasse, Sierre, Switzerland, 2003 |
||
It is commonly said that Sierre is the city of most sunshine in Switzerland but there is no guarantee. In Gentian Blue colour (named by the supplier), two large stickers representing the skylines photographed in the courtyard of a modern shopping arcade in Sierre are separately put on top of two transparent canopies above the staircases entering this courtyard. As an site-specific work in the public space, Always Gentian Blue Sky explores the relationship between reality and its photo representation, in a lively and humourous way.
