Photographer's Memory

Site-specific installation, dimensions variable, 2018

Commissioned by the Art Promotion Office, Photographer’s Memory is a site-specific installation in a former school building in Chuen Lung, a small village in Tai Mo Mountain in the New Territories. Started from an old photo taken 50 years ago by long-time resident and photographer Chak Wai Leung, the whole project evolved into inquiries for the meaning of photography and its relationship with our memory, with Chak’s life journey and photography activities as the backdrop. The installation comprised of four elements: the Viewfinder, the Film, the Memory and the Perspective.
