As an extension of the Domestica Invisibile series, ?LDK was developed during a
3-month-residency in Sapporo in 2005. Here "?" stands for the number of
bedrooms, "L" for living room, "D" for dining room and "K" for kitchen,
altogether as an usual code for property agents or apartment seekers to
describe the plan of the apartment. Sapporo is the northern capital
city of Japan which attracts many people from the nearby provinces to
move there. Domestic space is predominantly an idea of property and
apartment hunt has become a phenomenon among young singles who formed
the majority of people whom I met there. |
